We are closed for the Winter of 2024
We plan to open again in April 2025
When we are open, we request reservations for dinner
Why do we request reservations?
To be honest, making homemade food of the highest quality is labor intensive and expensive. Small batch food with the freshest, finest ingredients available means the food is absolutely delicious, with textures usually not available outside of home. It also means that we have to plan in advance to ensure we can serve our diners at a reasonable price point.
Thank you for allowing us to make this ask as we grow our offering.
We offer homemade seasonal pies every week, such as strawberry rhubarb, blueberry, peach, apple. pecan and walnut, coconut cream, key lime to name a few favorites.
We support local growers who provide us organic fruits from their small farms, so for instance, the blueberries in our blueberry pie have never been refrigerated, which enhances the flavor of the pie.
The apples are from our trees, they are ugly and misshapen, but they are the best pie apples, and they are entirely organic, nothing added. The deer love them.
Other favorites include Lemon Cheesecake, Indian Pudding, Gingerbread Pudding, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Crème Brûlée, Carrot Cake…and the best ice cream sundaes.
Helen has been baking since she was a kid, gathering recipes from neighbors and family. The grand dames of Worthington in the 1960s enjoyed the interchange with Helen and her 7 sisters as they learned about rural life and home style entertaining from some of the greatest.
We love to cook. Dinners like Chicken Cordon Bleu, Short Ribs, Filet with Bearnaise, Grilled Salmon, Fried Fish and Clams are Velvet Classics.
We announce our dinners in advance, all depending on season and market.
